Art Exhibition Stand for TEFAF Maastricht
TEFAF Maastricht is an awe-inspiring event that unites the finest art, antiques, and design worldwide. With over 260 esteemed art dealers showcasing 7,000 years of artistry, the fair is a real acknowledgement of human creativity and design excellence. It’s a reminder of the boundless potential of human imagination and the power of art to connect people across time and space.
As per the recommendation of Crown Fine Art Services, the Omer Trioche Gallery recently approached our design studio to design an art exhibition stand for their latest exhibition. Despite the limited space available for the stand, the gallery was keen on creating an eye-catching exhibition stand that embraced a unique and visually striking display, enticing visitors to explore the art pieces further towards the back of the stand. As creative design professionals, we were eager to take on this challenging project and deliver an inviting and engaging art exhibition stand that would effectively invite potential visitors to explore the gallery’s treasures.
When it comes to showcasing art at fairs and exhibitions, getting people to engage with the exhibits can be quite challenging. To overcome this challenge, our design team developed various concepts before finally settling on a creative design that involved two walls placed at a 40-degree angle from the main thoroughfare.
Furthermore, we created a central hub to create a visitor flow, increase the wall-hanging area, and provide an internal room. This internal room is essential not only for storing brochures and unsightly personal effects, but it is also where some of the most special art pieces for sale are stored for those select clients to view privately. This created a more immersive experience for visitors and made the exhibition stand out.
We developed a digital 3D model to evaluate the designs thoroughly and imported the artwork to scale. This allowed us to efficiently assess how the artworks complemented one another before their installation. The benefits of this approach cannot be overstated, as it enabled us to reach a consensus on all aspects of the project before the implementation phase. Once the artwork placement and layout were finalised, we focused on designing the lighting track layout and selecting the most suitable fittings to display the artwork to its fullest potential.
Art Exhibition Stand Design & Lighting
Our design studio has a team of specialist lighting art consultants who deeply understand the nuances of delivering museum-quality lighting. They are well-versed in not overexposing the artwork to too much light and ensuring it is treated with the utmost care and attention.
The importance of lighting in any display cannot be overstated. Good lighting is the cherry on top of the design cake, or, if implemented poorly, it can make artwork dull and uninteresting. Our team of lighting art consultants has a keen eye for detail and understands the importance of lighting temperature. We recommend a bluer or colder temperature of white light for modern artworks, as it brings out the best in the artefact pieces. For this art exhibition, we chose 4000K, which is an ideal temperature for contemporary artworks.
Our lighting track was designed in a modular format that provides the most flexible solution possible, enabling us to display both paintings and sculptures beautifully. This modular design ensures we can adjust the lighting as needed to achieve the desired effect. The finishing touch was to place and focus the lighting fittings correctly.
We invite you to attend our upcoming art exhibition stand at the prestigious TEFAF Maastricht, from March 9th to 12th. This event offers a unique opportunity to experience curated collections of exquisite artworks firsthand.
