IMMERSIVE ART ENVIRONMENTS

Contemporary Exhibition Lighting for KCCUK in Strand, London

The KCCUK Open Call II: The Flat, Flat, Shiny Cat exhibition by Hyemin Son and John Reardon was a contemporary art exhibit that featured a carefully planned exhibition lighting design. The artists were selected by an independent panel of jurors, which included Mark Rappolt, the editor-in-chief at Art Review, Katrina Schwarz, the curator of the British Council, and Sung Hwan Kim, a contemporary artist. The artists were chosen from over 135 applicants, highlighting the exceptional creative talent in the selection process.

The exhibition lighting design was a crucial aspect of the art exhibit and was designed to enhance the visual experience of the artwork on display. The lighting design team worked closely with the artists to create a unique and immersive environment that complemented the artworks and explored the various notions of rhythm and slowness central to the exhibit’s theme.

Several images of the art lighting design project were taken throughout the development stage, including behind-the-scenes shots. These images capture the lighting design team’s diligent attention to detail, as they worked to create an environment that would allow the artwork to shine and engage the viewer.
